MOGADIHSU (Sh. M. Network)-The spokesman of Al-shabab insurgent group, Sheik Muktar Abu Mansoor told reporters Wednesdayd in Mogadishu that they have lost two top leaders in the fighting that took place in Guriel town in central Somalia.
At least 30 people, mostly fighters, have been killed and more than fifty others wounded in a heavy fighting between Islamist fighters of Al-shabab and Ahlu Sunna Waljamaca that erupted in Gruel on 11 January 2009.
“Mohamed Mohamed Salad and Mohamed Yusuf Nur were martyred in Guriel,” said Abu Mansoor.
Abu Mansoor says they fought in Guriel militias that Ethiopia armed them.
He also vowed they will continue fighting even if the Ethiopian troops pull out from Mogadishu.
“We will strike AMISOM bases like the airport and K4,” he added.
The statement of Abu Mansoor comes as Ethiopian troops pulled strategic bases in Mogadishu.
On Wednesday afternoon Islamic Courts Union forces have taken control of three police stations in north Mogadishu.
